Nature's Creepiness

I woke up to a cold, foggy morning. Woke up with cold toes and had to turn the heat on :)

The fog covered the ground and rose above it to create a really ethereal-looking atmosphere. Or spooky if you want to think of it that way.

I grabbed my camera and threw my shoes on to run outside and snap these pics of some big spider webs that Mr. Diy had noticed the day before. I knew the dew/frost/whatever was on them would make them stand out and really show up well in a picture.

Boy, was I right!

I had no idea we had so many spider webs around the house!

In the bushes, around the deck, the trees, pretty much you name it....the spiders are there!

That thought creeps me out a little more than I'd like to admit. I'm not a bug person. They don't make me run screaming, but I'd rather they stay where I don't have to see them.

This morning, thankfully, I didn't see any spiders....just the proof that they'd been there....spinning industriously while I lay quietly asleep in my bed.

It's a bit of a disquieting thought!

Who needs to create spooky decorations outside for Halloween when nature does it so well? I don't think I can compete with this!

I've got to admit, this is one pretty amazing web, isn't it?!

How do you decorate the exterior of your house for Halloween? Do you go for creepy or cute? Spooky or silly? Do you have to deal with spiders?

  1. As long as the webs are empty, I'm fine with the real thing.
