For the Love of Pumpkins

My Heart Goes Pitter Patter for This Pumpkin!

How to make a sweater or shirt pumpkin

You may think me completely cuckoo after reading this post today. But if you've read my blog for any time at all, you'll know that I'm completely smitten with pumpkins! There have been the black velvet pumpkins, the armloads of sweater pumpkins,  a shabby wreath with pumpkins and the pumpkin door hanging. A bunch of you jumped on the 'pumpkin wagon' and requested it and so I shared the sweater pumpkin tutorial with you. I showed you how to make black burlap pumpkins and I had a giveaway for one of my sweater pumpkins. I shared some pumpkin chalkboard art  and a sweet way to frame a tiny felt pumpkin. And, there are even more pumpkin posts coming up, if you can believe it!

This sweet pumpkin came about when it was time to mail the winner of the Sweater Pumpkin Giveaway, Kelly Carpenter Arent, her prize. I decided to surprise her and make her a "bonus" pumpkin and slip it inside the package.

I made it to match the big bonus pumpkin that I shared in the sweater pumpkin tutorial. I still had two sleeves left, after all :)

Isn't it cute??

Decorating with Pumpkins

It turned out SO adorable, I almost couldn't bear to put it in the package and mail it to Kelly.

I was just a little bit in love...

Isn't that always the way it is?? The things we make for others turn out better than what we make for ourselves? I don't know why. Maybe it's because we're trying extra hard.

Just in case you're wondering, I did mail the pumpkin, but not before it got a little "photo shoot" around my house :)

Just so I could remember it :)

I even got the boys involved - well, kinda! This picture is about 10 years old, lol. Check out the pumpkin we grew when we lived in Oregon!!

Can't leave Little Diy out...here she is in the pumpkin patch about 6 years ago. I love pulling these pics of the kids out and displaying them during Fall.

And one more of the sweetest little pumpkin that ever did "live".

I'll love you, little pumpkin, til the end of vine.

Oh wait, I still have one more sleeve. YES. I'll just make your twin!! WHEEeeeeee!!

I hoped you've enjoyed this little bit of craziness today, brought to you by Me, and a Pumpkin :)

Enjoy your day, sweet reader, and be watching for some more pumpkin goodness to emerge from this blog!

  1. I love this! I'm doing a newborn photo shoot this week and am now picturing these clever little things all over surrounding the baby! Of course, I am not at all crafty when it comes to sewing or working with fabric! lol.
