Happy New Year!!

The older I get, the faster time seems to fly.... and this year has been no exception!

It really feels like just a couple weeks ago that we moved into our present home (on Christmas Eve of 2012) and spent Christmas Day a midst a house full of boxes, wondering if it would ever feel like home.

I am SO thankful that is all behind me!! We've officially been in our home a year now... each of us has celebrated our birthday here, we've experienced all 4 seasons Tennessee has to offer.

In other words... we are settled. Ahh....

So... even though my blog is far from a year old, I thought it would be fun to reflect back on 10 of my favorite posts since I began...

My Old White and Duck Egg Blue chair that I Rescued From the Trash was not only one of my favorite projects to do, but it was also my very first ever feature...so it will always hold a special place in my heart :)

I love re-purposing things in new ways, and decided to redo this craft shelf to display my Ironstone Pitcher Collection in my kitchen and add a pleasing pop of color.

After posting my sweater pumpkins, I got several requests for a tutorial....I was happy to oblige and gave you not only the Sweater Pumpkin Tutorial, but also showed you how to make an adorable pumpkin from a long-sleeved tee (which turned out to be one of my favorite fall decorations to display this year!)

I had fun sharing all my Thrifty Bargains with you in my dining room, from the great deal I got on my hutch to the stenciled drop cloth curtains to the hand-sewn chair skirt and table runner, the homemade chalk paint to the Decor Steals bamboo mat...it's all there!

What can you buy with $2?? Quite a lot the last day of a church tag sale! That's where I scored this Chippy Wall Shelf, which I shared how I transformed with homemade chalk paint.

I love Chalkboards...so that's the first thing that came to my mind when I bought this cupboard door from Habitat ReStore. A vintage-style drawer handle, attached upside down, makes the perfect chalk holder!!

While everyone else was making orange wreaths for fall, I decided to make more of an Unconventional Wreath. Mine is suitable for fall, but can stay up all year. I painted the monogram letter to match the striped ribbon, giving it a fun, custom look.

My mom's yummy yet simple Apple Crisp Recipe was showcased on pretty thrifted plates.

I showed you how to make easy Burlap and Drop Cloth Trees...and showed you my burlap sign that is a visual reminder to me just Who is in control...

And finally, I showed you how to make these unique Paper Curl Christmas Trees...made from book paper.

Here they are again:

I am excited to see my little blog grow this year in 2014 as I am being challenged and stretched to become a better blogger.

There are lots of DIY projects waiting in the wings as well ( I have big plans for my kitchen in 2014...) and I will be stretching my creative muscle in 2014 to be able to share new projects with you and ways to make your home beautiful on a budget.

As we head off into the 'unknowns' of 2014, I hope that we will learn to trust God better this year, love our families stronger and live life fuller!
