When you entered the giveaway, I asked you about the best pie you've ever eaten. Well...let me tell you about my favorite pie experience! My mom's homemade apple pie and her banana cream pie were always at the top of my list. Since she passed away 13 years ago, I've made her pies, but mine somehow just don't taste as good! I never thought I'd taste another exceptional pie again. And then we moved to Texas. And there is a sweet lady in our church who bakes the most amazing homemade chocolate pudding pie with fresh meringue topping (I know that's quite a mouthful!) that I've ever tasted! In my life. I don't think I'd ever tasted chocolate pudding pie with meringue before...but I was sold! Mr DIY agrees with me. So last year I asked this lady's daughter (hi Kathy!) if I could purchase a whole chocolate pudding pie from her and surprise Mr DIY for his birthday. Sadly, I was told she doesn't sell her pies. So imagine my absolute delight when she showed up at our door with a fresh baked pie that week! We were in pie heaven (and just between us...I believe I ate more of it than Mr DIY got) ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜‰ I truly could not help myself...this pie is THAT GOOD! So Ola, if you happen to read this...we are in desperate need of chocolate pudding pie over here! Teach me your secrets! ๐Ÿ’™

Thank you for celebrating with me all week long! I lost a few subscribers...weird right? I guess they don't like free stuff ๐Ÿ˜• BUT I got to interact with many of you, read your comments and see some new followers sign up...so I call that a win! I am so thankful for my sweet sponsors and all they did to help me celebrate my blogiversary! There's more celebrating going on...Mr DIY and I are taking a quick trip this weekend in honor of our 26th anniversary. But I will announce all the winners next week in one post, so keep an eye out for that. Aaand, I'll be sharing the written tutorial for my antiqued pumpkins...if you follow me on Instagram, you may have caught the video in my stories or highlights. This might be the cheapest pumpkin tutorial yet!

See you next week!

  1. I'm really not that much of a pie eater but every now I then I do like the frozen peanut butter cup pie or a slice of coconut cream.

  5. Best pie I've eaten definitely has to be pumpkin pie. I know its usually a seasonal pie but I can eat it all year round. Also I grew up in south Florida so Key Lime pie was the thing to eat for any occasion lol especially when going to Key West.
