Antique Door Knob Hanger (One Room Challenge: Week 5)

Antique Door Knob Hanger (One Room Challenge: Week 5)
Welcome to Week 5 of my One Room Challenge. There's only one week left before all the participants share our ORC Reveals! We're in the home stretch now! I've got the basics covered in the Guest Room I'm making over. I've already bought, painted, and installed the following: bed   furniture   bedding and window treatments   This week it was all about accessories, the stuff that adds personality and life to a room.

Say YES to Family Game Night

Say YES to Family Game Night
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions about social media, family time and awesome snacks are my own. #GameNightIn #CollectiveBias I had one of those moments recently. You know what I'm talking about. I looked at my kids and found myself in shock at how fast they've grown. We don't have much time left with them before they're grown up and gone!

How to Plant Faux Succulents (Guest Post: 3 Little Greenwoods)
Good morning friends! I have a treat for you today. Since I am basking in the Arizona sun this week with Mr DIY, I've asked my friend Ashley from 3 Little Greenwoods if she would share a project with you today!  Ashley was one of the very first 'bloggy' friends I made. She is super sweet...and super talented! No one else can pull together a kids birthday party better than Ashley! Her site is full of fun and colorful inspiration for your home and I hope you'll check out her blog. Take it away Ashley.

Painting an Oak Bed (One Room Challenge: Spring 2015 Week 2)
Wow, I'm so happy this project is done! Welcome, I'm delighted you're choosing to spend a few minutes of your day with me! Grab a diet Coke or another cup of coffee and let's take a look at this bed transformation. Today is Week 2 in the  One Room Challenge at Calling it Home blog. If you're not familiar with this challenge, several bloggers are taking just 6 weeks to transform a room in their homes.  Last week I shared my Restful Guest Retreat Inspiration Board .  My goal is to create a space that is calm, restful and cozy for my guests to relax in. That means bright colors will be very minimally used; it's all about soothing neutrals. Mr DIY and I bought this gorgeous Victorian Mansion bed as newlyweds (23 years ago).

Hello Spring Sign Tutorial

Hello Spring Sign Tutorial
As I was getting started on my spring cleaning this week, I got side-tracked by some craft supplies. If you know me well, this is nothing unusual...I run from cleaning like a gazelle from a hungry lion! And while I should be going to the gym...that's about all the exercise I've been getting! Crafting is so much more fun! I can't remember where this mat came from...but I pictured a project. A Spring sign.

Guest Room Makeover (One Room Challenge: Spring 2015 Week 1)
I must be crazy...I haven't finished my Farmhouse Modern Laundry Room makeover yet...and I'm starting on another room! But I just couldn't resist. Have you heard of the One Room Challenge event? It's where 20 bloggers make over rooms in 6 weeks and then hundreds of other bloggers join in as linking participants. This will be my first year linking up to this event...I was excited to join and feel like I needed the motivation to get this Guest Room Makeover off the ground! I've only got 6 weeks to pull this off! Wish me luck.
