Fall Decorating

It's Friday! The beginning of a long weekend! Lots to be thankful for!!

I hope you don't mind, but today on the blog it's 'leftover' day.

Remember when you were little and it was leftover night? Your mom would pull out all the leftovers from the fridge and make a meal with it. You might have a little meatloaf with a piece of pizza and some chicken noodle soup. It didn't really go together, but it satisfied.

Today I'm sharing a few leftovers with you,
some fall projects I've been working on, as well as some projects from last year that never made it onto the blog.

No tutorial today...just pretty pictures!

Like hanging the fall wreath on the freshly painted door and planting a couple bright yellow mums picked up at Home Depot this week. I love coming home to this warm Welcome!

A couple tweaks to the mantle with the polka dot bunting and the painted pumpkin topiary from last year. I haven't decided if I'll keep this up...not sure I want orange this year.

I'm still crazy in love with polka dots! They're just so happy, but I find myself craving peace and calm in my decor, and for me that means neutrals and softer colors.

Like these gorgeous pumpkins I did last year...simple dollar store pumpkins that got a makeover with pale minty chalk paint and rope stems (this was a tutorial from Pinterest, but I can't remember where I saw it).

Last year I made a ton of signs to sell at the craft shows I participated in. This painted pumpkin went fast.

As did this one. I love making signs!

Ooh look...here's another one! I repurposed the heck out of the scrap fence wood I found at my neighbor's curb last fall...hey, why throw stuff away when it can be remade into cute home decor, right?

I took some time this week to work on a new pillow cover. A few of my favorite things...like burlap and drop cloth. I can't decide if I like it better here on my office chair...

...or on my little IKEA lounge chair in the corner of my office. One thing's for sure though...

It's staying in my office where I can enjoy it on a daily basis!!

I hope my 'leftovers' left you satisfied! If I get enough interest, I'll share the tutorial for the burlap flowers soon. Let me know in the comments if you'd like it.

There will be more Fall on the blog soon. I've been busy crafting and creating and can't wait to share more with you!

What about you? Have you started decorating for Fall yet? Do you like traditional colors or do you prefer neutrals?

I love hearing from you!

  1. I have never made decorations for Fall here in Greece because it is still summertime in October. We go right to Christmas, but after seeing all these pretty fall decorations what kind of a blogger would I be if I didn't . .. you have given me inspiration.

    1. Mary K, I'm surprised to hear you don't have fall in Greece, but I'm sure your extended summer is beautiful :) I'm so happy to have inspired you!!

  2. Where I live at sea level, the leaves don't change color and they stay green in the winter for the most part (olive trees, lemon trees) - I guess it could be like Florida. However in the mountains it is a whole other story...It really depends on your altitude.
