This post is written by me on behalf of Tyson Foods, Inc.. All opinions are entirely my own.

Easy, no-fuss menu items are staples during the busy holiday season! Everyone loves these gooey Phyllis Sandwiches. In fact, they're a family recipe that's been passed down. I have no idea who Phyllis is or how these sandwiches got their name, but once you taste them, you won't even care!

These little sammies are filled with Wright® Brand Bacon, ham, Swiss cheese and a gooey, delectable spread made with poppy seeds, perfect for brunch, lunch or late-night snacking!

The small meals should be just as special as the big dinners we'll share with family and friends during the holidays. Tyson® products makes it easy to pull together delicious and hearty meals during the busy holiday season.

  • 24 small sweet rolls, sliced
  • 8-12 slices Wright® Brand Smoked Bacon, cooked and cooled
  • 4-6 slices deli ham, cut into squares
  • 4-6 slices Swiss cheese, cut into squares
  • 1 stick margarine or butter
  • 2 Tbs yellow mustard (omit if you don't like mustard)
  • 2 Tbs poppy seeds

*Note: mustard spread makes enough for 24 sandwiches; can easily be halved

My kids could eat bacon with every meal! Wright® Brand Bacon, found at your local H-E-B store, is hand-trimmed, hand-selected and naturally smoked. You can find in in the refrigerated cooler at the back of the store.

Soften butter in microwave but do not melt. Mix mustard and poppy seeds into butter and spread onto both halves of the sliced buns.

Layer ham, bacon and cheese slices on top and close them back up.

Wrap sandwiches in a foil packet.

Bake at 325° about 20 minutes or until cheese is melted.

These sandwiches are best served warm while everything is still melted and gooey! The butter soaks down into the bun so the flavor is in every single bite! The mustard adds a touch of tartness, while the poppy seeds add a slight crunch.
