DIY Fall Banner Picture

Straight From the Stash

DIY fall banner picture

Before I get into this post, I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude to all the men and women who serve and have served to protect our country! Today, on Veteran's Day, we remember and honor you. I want to give a shout out to my niece, Airman Kendria "Chip" Patch, I am so proud of you! And to my "little" brother Chad, who is celebrating his 38th birthday today & enjoying the joys of new fatherhood for the 4th time around,
"Happy Birthday Chad, I love you!"

Remember that post about my personal scrapbook "store" and my unparalleled stash?

Well, this post came straight from the stash, so to speak, hee hee.

Everything that you see, from the scalloped felt trim, the velvet trim to the ribbon and glitter, the buttons and paper, rub-ons, chalk, punch-outs, chipboard...yes, even the frame itself - straight from my stash!

A stash is a wonderful thing :)

No, no, no...Not a moustache...unless it's a cute one on a t-shirt.

Don't have one? You should totally get one!

A stash comes in so handy when you want to do a project like this but you don't want to leave the house...you just go "shop your stash"!

And did you know that if you cut card stock really, really thin, and then wrap it around a pencil...it will hold its shape in a perfect little curlicue?

Make a fall picture using paper, buttons, ribbons & other trims

Did you know that craft chalks totally add depth to otherwise flat, boring paper?? Just check out my pumpkin, the leaves and stem. All you do is rub the chalk on with a q-tip!

And when you ink the edges of something, it's another way to add great dimension and help something 'PoP'!! You don't need to get inks in all different colors...I just use brown or black.

Did you know that you can mimic the look of a banner by just cutting out a few equal-sized triangles and spacing them edge-to-edge across one corner of your paper? Yup, no hanging required! No ribbon or string or jute needed! Just glue em down :)

And did you know any anything green across the bottom of your page can fill in for "grass", when you're fresh out?

My very, very, very favorite adhesive for securing everything on this page is Fabri Tac...and no, I'm not being paid to say that...I just love their product. It's quick drying, and it STICKS!!

I think you should totally get started on your own stash so when inspiration strikes, you are ready :)
