Vintage Valentine Cloche

I love collecting little bits and pieces...old tickets, used stamps, unique tags from clothing...'ephemera'. I especially love vintage ephemera and have acquired a few authentic vintage pieces, like these Bingo cards.

Simply put, ephemera are little bits of history that were held onto (sentimental reasons I'm sure)...and have now become highly collectible.

Most of my collection sits in a drawer until inspiration strikes, as it did this week. I had an empty cloche and needed something to fill it...and I suddenly remembered my vintage Bingo cards...perfect for a little Valentines display. You can find vintage Bingo cards on auction sites like Ebay.

Fifteen minutes later I had pulled together this sweet little vignette.

Did you notice the other vintage element I used?

If you guessed the flower frog, you are correct! It's the perfect little stand for holding up the Bingo card.  If you guessed the candy canes, you are wrong...they are 2013!

It just goes to show...you don't need to spend a lot of money or time to achieve a charming touch in your home!

And, because I love ya, you can head over to Sweetly Scrapped and print out your very own vintage inspired Bingo cards for free! She has other vintage images that are free as well.

  1. I love your idea of adding ephemera to the cloche and your vignette it beautiful.

I bought a cloche several weeks ago, but have yet to display it. Now I know what to put on our table for our dinner party Monday night.
