Great Getaway in the Smokies

Spring Break in the Smoky Mountains

Our kids had their Spring Break at the end of March and I fully intended to do a blog post about our trip sooner.

But then there were Easter projects and crafts to blog about. So here we are...

My in-laws gave us a week at a Wyndham resort this year and we chose this one... the Wilderness at the Smokies Waterpark Resort . It's in Pigeon Forge, TN...only a 3-1/2 hour drive for us.

This resort had so much to do that we hardly left it the whole time we were there! We bought amenity cards which gave us access to everything the resort had to offer.

Aside from the huge indoor waterpark with slides (yes I tried that crazy contraption you see in the picture above - once!) and wave pool, there was an indoor Adventure Park with a 3-story climbing ropes course that you were harnessed to (lots of fun!), bowling, laser tag, mini golf, an arcade and candy shop.

The kids loved it almost as much as Mr. Diy and I did, hehe.

But check out the pictures of our Presidential Suite...

The kitchen and living areas were huge and absolutely beautiful!

The bedrooms?  Even better!

I took these pictures when we first arrived, before we messed them up!

The view off our balcony was a mammoth golf course. We saw a jogger out in the middle on one of the paths one morning...hello!

Little Diy and I got away by ourselves one afternoon and did some shopping at the Beehive, a fun store for women (and girls!) full of accessories, shoes and jewelry!

This wasn't our first time to the 'Dollywood' region and we have done many of the tourist attractions in the past. Our time here this trip was so relaxing, hanging out by the pool and watching the kids play. Shopping in Gatlinburg, enjoying 'tourist-sightings'!!

Thanks mom and dad!!!

I highly recommend the Wilderness at the Smokies Resort if you're ever in the area (and I wasn't paid to say that!)
