Hey friends, I don't normally post on a Saturday, but this post took forever to write! I came down with my second sinus infection, and it has wiped me out! There's something about sinus infections that just drag you down. I think I could literally sleep 24 hours a day!

So obviously I didn't have the time or the energy to go crazy with my Christmas table! And honestly, by this point in the season, I'm feeling a little worn out! I just want to enjoy my kids and not worry about decorating. I wanted to put together something simple, yet beautiful and festive at the same time. I think I achieved that, but I'll let you be the judge.

I know you've seen lots of pictures of my Christmas dining room as I've shared my home tour, details of my blue and white tree, but today we're focusing on the table. It's been basically the same since after Thanksgiving, although I've tweaked it here and there!

I started with a red gingham table runner that I stitched up a few years ago. I love having decor items like this that can be used for multiple seasons! If you don't sew, you can find similar ones here.

I topped that with a wood tray that I recently painted white and chipped, using my super simple method for creating a vintage, chippy look!

use ornaments as decor

See those chippy edges?? Love it!

Keeping it super simple, I tucked in a glass Rae Dunn vase and filled the bottom with mini ornaments in the most beautiful soft neutrals (found these at Target this year!). I topped those with a candle.

I considered adding greenery to the sides, but in the end I just added a few extra ornaments that I had and wasn't using on the tree. Simple.

vintage items for Christmas

I set the table with my mismatched vintage blue and white dishes. Each one is different, but they all work together. I used my bamboo chargers under the dishes to add texture and because they work with everything! And real napkins...white edged with red, that I'll be able to use for other occasions too.

To add a little center interest to each plate, I used my vintage milk glass dessert dishes that I've had for years. You can find these online, I sourced a few for you here. Each one got a little wreath, using a wired paper wreath I found in the Target Dollar Spot. I just made them to fit and tied a red ribbon around them. Then I simply topped the wreath with a plain white ornament.

hang ornaments from chandelier

Super simple and cute. Until I found real Rae Dunn ornaments in Colorado and replaced them!! I'm in love 😍 If you can't find these, you can make your own! Check out my tutorial here.

The small hobnail votive holders were found at the Dollar Tree, and I love their small size and the black metal holders! You can find lots of different vintage-style candle holders at the Dollar Tree now!

The table is set, and all the kiddos will be home tomorrow! This momma can't wait!

I used the same ribbon to hang my mercury glass ornaments from the chandy for a little extra sparkle.
