Farmhouse Fall Tour

Good morning friends! I'm delighted to bring you this mini Fall tour from the home of one of my Instagram friends, Mary Casa Chic. Mary's home is light and bright with lots of natural, rustic elements that add delightful texture and I know you will be wowed by her stunning home and beautiful pictures!

Before we get to the tour, here's a little update on our own home. I wish I had pretty photos to show you, but I haven't spent much time on actual decorating yet; we've been too busy unpacking.

I'm absolutely itching to start hanging items on walls, do a little painting and such but I'm finding that I'm so worn out from unpacking and all that entails that I have little energy for the 'fun stuff'! Boo!

I promise it's coming soon though! Mr DIY has been after me to take it easy. I have a bad back and a tendency to overdue things in my enthusiasm; the result being that I usually strain my back and then can't do anything until it heals! So, I'm trying really hard to listen to my body and take it slow. In the meantime, I'm living vicariously through Mary's gorgeous home!

It's so fun to take a peek inside other's homes, isn't it? It's a little like snooping...but with full permission!

So welcome to the home of Mary Casa Chic. Mary is a friend I discovered on Instagram. We share a very similar decorating style, including color choices so I was naturally drawn to her feed. She graciously sent me some pictures of her home, decorated for fall, for me to share with you.

Enjoy the tour!

I love her use of this old tobacco basket propped on her mantle. It's a great spot for an acorn bunting and small sign! If you love neutrals, white pumpkins are so much less intrusive than the orange variety, but still say "fall"!

Natural elements pair beautifully with rustic antiques. The painted dresser is so, so chic isn't it? If you have a dresser that you're thinking of painting, considering removing some of the doors and inserting baskets for a fresh, new look. I did that with this outdated hutch.

As a former secretary who was proud of her lighting fast typing speed (80 wpm), I'm drawn to antique typewriters. I love how Mary styled hers with the dictionary description of autumn...even if the typewriter no longer works, it can be a wonderful accent piece! A little branch from the yard adds a touch of green.

More light pumpkins, a rustic sign, cotton...can you feel that fall is in the air?

A plain grapevine wreath can be so beautiful when it is part of a grouping. This antique church pew is stunning and the perfect perch for taking off shoes or reading a book!

In her kitchen, Mary brought a touch of fall to a shelf with a small chalkboard sign, a white apple and more greenery.

I love these striped curtains! I gave away a pair of them recently, and am hoping to use them in my new home. You can find them (aff. link) here. This room says country farmhouse without all the clutter. I love the clean, fresh look of modern farmhouse style!

More white pumpkins and natural textures.

These blue velvet tufted wing chairs are absolutely stunning! I love their muted color, and the way they add a little pop to the neutral living room.

This whole room just says cozy fall and I could see myself curled up on the sofa with a book and a cup of coffee, couldn't you?

Mary's home is beautifully decorated, and I love how her fall decorations fit in so seamlessly! What is your favorite element?

  1. LOVE your home. Trying to slowly to implement the farmhouse style in my home. I already gravitate to that style just didn't have a name for it. Love your living room.
