Rustic and Elegant Bedroom Makeover

Giving a plain bedroom a rustic and elegant European farmhouse makeover in just 5 weeks. Come see how we did it!

When we moved into our home a few years ago, the main bedroom was one of the most uninspiring spaces! Here's a peek.

See what I mean? It was awful! But we left it for a couple years as we focused on the main living spaces first, like tackling the dark living room, painting the dated brick fireplace, redoing our sunroom and installing new farmhouse laminate floors throughout.

We finally had time to give our main bedroom the attention it deserved and by now I was full of ideas to creatively infuse European farmhouse rustic charm into the space without spending a lot of money!

The new space turned out better than expected! We added a faux brick wall behind our headboard, made a pair of barn doors, ripped out the carpet and installed new wood floors, and lots of other thrifty DIY projects.

It's time for Home and Decor Encore. Every Friday I join with the following blogger friends to share an updated post that you may have missed seeing. Feel free to click on the links below to see more details about each project and tutorial!
