It's always fun to compile my Top 10 posts of the year and see on paper, which were your favorites! There are always a few surprises in the bunch, and this year was no exception!

Interestingly enough, about half of my Top 10 posts from 2022 were ones I posted while living in our farmhouse in Texas, and the other half were from MS! One thing you may not realize is that my blog is my business. It started off as a hobby back in 2013, but quickly evolved into a way to earn an income while being a SAHM. Now that my kids have grown and flown, I still am passionate about blogging, seeing just how creative I can be, and sharing all the ways to create and decorate a beautiful home on a budget with you!

Every Sunday I send out my Weekly Recap newsletter, highlighting the projects from that week. I also share favorite finds and projects from around the web. Subscribers have free access to my Printables Resource Library so if you're not already receiving my newsletter, consider signing up here.

I was blessed to work with some amazing companies this year, including Mary's Kitchen (home to the best flour sack towels), Piper Classics, Vagabond House, SUNJOY Group, Decoberry and Hickory Hardware. I only work with companies whose products fit my style and brand, and who I absolutely love! In fact, I produced content twice for 3 of these companies in 2022 and I'm hoping to work with them again in 2023!

These types of sponsored posts, and even the ads on my site, are how I earn my income and they allow me to continue to bring you the best quality projects, tutorials and posts, all for free!

I'm excited about 2023 and have lots of ideas I can't wait to share with you! Will this be the year we move again into our forever house? Or will we spend another year in our MS rental?

Without anymore rambling, let's take a look at your TOP 10 PICKS from 2022. If you missed any of these posts, you can simply click on the title links to take a closer look!

Top Reader Favorite Posts of 2022

No. 1 - Primitive Farmhouse Drop Cloth Sunflowers

I'm really not surprised these DIY sunflowers were #1 on the blog this year. They took off everywhere I shared them, including Instagram, Pinterest, HomeTalk, YouTube and the blog!

If you missed this project, it's a great way to use up old mason jar lid rings and canvas drop cloth! An affordable DIY with outstanding results! I can't wait for Fall 2023 so I can pull these out again!

No. 2 - Adding Style and Function to a Small Laundry Room

This is a DIY project we pulled off just a couple weeks into living in our new rental home. The room was just not functional and was bland and dare I say it, ugly! We found and created ways to add extra storage with style, and I shared a super easy way to get a fun wallpaper look with just a paintbrush! Best of all, this project came in at just $50!

No. 3 - Updating Exterior Windows with Spray Paint

Before listing our TX home on the market, Mr DIY took a few days to give our metal exterior windows a fresh update with black spray paint! This inexpensive DIY added a whole lot of curb appeal and I'm sure it's why our home sold in under 3 days! If you have an older home with functional windows but they are looking a little dingy, give this project a try!

No. 4 - An Easy Non-Toxic Way to Clean Your Oven

This post was one of the first ones I shared in 2022. I've been cleaning my oven this way for years, and decided I needed to share it! If you struggle with the fumes from cleaning products, I know you'll appreciate this non-toxic alternative. You probably already have the items in your kitchen! In fact, I just used this method to clean our oven this morning after my apple pie leaked all over the bottom of the oven!

No. 5 -  Easy Fabric and Wood Bead Sunflowers

A great way to use up fabric scraps, these little sunflowers are super fast to make and each one looks unique! You might be surprised what I used as the ring, I guarantee you have it in your home right now!

No. 6 -  Salt Dough Rabbit Ornaments for Spring

You might have made salt dough ornaments before, but if you haven't used these vintage style cookie molds, you're in for a treat! I made cinnamon salt dough so my rabbit ornaments looked more vintage. Be sure to check out the full tutorial at the link above! I actually packaged these and brought them along to MS, and can't wait to decorate with them this year!

No. 7 - Spring Mantel and Sunroom

I was actually surprised that this post made my Top 10! We were in the middle of packing for our move out of state, and I didn't have a lot of time to do much Spring decorating. However, this proves to me that sometimes simpler is better, a lesson I'm going to try to remember this year!

No. 8 - Anthro Textured Pot Dupe for Under $5

This is the type of project I love! Take something inexpensive from the dollar store and flip it into something that looks high end for just a few bucks! I really love how this textured pot turned out!

No. 9 - Easy Wood Bead Hearts

What can you make with a little wire and some wood beads? The cutest wood bead hearts, that's what! I figured out the easiest way to make these hearts and shared them with you.

No. 10 -  Budget Friendly Spring Dining Room with Flowers and Bunnies

I love decorating a pretty table, and this might be one of my favorites! Bunnies, flowers, soft blue eggs, thrifted vintage ironstone. I mean, it's all my favorite things combined! If you missed this one, make sure you take a look!

Wow, what a fun look back at 2022! I hope these were some of your favorite posts too.

I want to take this time to wish you a Happy New Year! Thank you for your support, it means so much! I'm thankful for you and hope you're ready to come along for the ride this next year!

  1. Hi Cindy,
I’m a new follower. My first view, the sunflowers! I see why they were one of your 2022 favorites. I really like the ones with the bead centers. I think I’m going to make them for spring first & you inspired me to try using the mop strings as petals for another look.
I am enjoying looking at your posts with so many creative ideas. We must have the same tastes! I just wanted to let you know you’ve inspired me! Happy 2023,
