Welcome to my living room Fall tour! With the weather starting to cool off, it's time to turn our thoughts to bringing cozy feels inside. I hope to give you some easy and doable ways to decorate your shelves for the season, adding texture, cozy vibes and warm autumnal colors.

If you're new here, welcome! I'm Cindy and we've been in our current home for just over a year. You can read more about our journey here. I have a deep desire to create a home that is inviting, comfortable and unique (even if it's a rental!), and if you want that too, I hope you'll sign up for my weekly newsletter!

I'm excited to be joining Marty of A Stroll Thru Life and several other fall-loving bloggers this week! We're giving you a peek inside our decorated spaces. Yes, it's still early Fall, but our hope is to inspire you to add a little seasonal, cozy fall decor to your own home! If you hopped over here from Decor to Adore, welcome! Laura always shares such beautiful ideas!

Fall Living Room Tour

I love blue and have incorporated it throughout my home. You can see my Fall dining room tour that I shared last week. Rather than packing away all the blue for the season, you'll see little peeks of blue combined with the rich, warmer colors of Fall. Rusty browns, mustard yellow and blue are a beautiful fall combination!

My home is filled with DIYs and many of them have tutorials, if you'd like to create the look. Look for the blue links to my DIY projects throughout the tour.

We have just one set of built ins in our living room. I'll show you what's on the other side of the mantel in a little bit. The white shelves are a great background to really showcase the colorful, textural items that I love.

DIYs:

White ironstone pitchers pair with vintage blue platters, rich velvet ribbon, a thrifted brass candlestick and antique books.

I added baskets for texture, creamy white milk glass and velvet pumpkins.

I kept the blue to a minimum on the shelves so it wouldn't overwhelm the space. A blue pitcher on a lower shelf holds faux blackberry stems and fall leaves in rust.

I wish we didn't have a big black TV on our mantel, but we do. I found a Fall scene by searching YouTube for vintage fall art. It certainly helps! I kept it simple on the mantel by wiring several Fall stems together and hung it as a garland. I love the oversized look of these leaves, and the velvety texture along with the pinecones gives it a rich feel.

To the other side of the fireplace is my white vintage cottage dresser that I painted years ago. This piece is well loved by all who see it! The height of the dresser, along with the baskets on the wall, help fill this otherwise empty space.

I hung my coffee stained and stamped hardware apron from the front of the dresser and filled it with some fall florals.

DIYs:

An antique dough box, that has been in Mr DIY's family for years, is filled with quilts and blankets with cozy texture. I painted this yard sale chair years ago, and recovered the seat in drop cloth fabric. I found this beige gingham pillow a few months ago at Target and it's the perfect size for this chair!

In our entryway I filled a wicker basket with fall stems and hung it from the mirror with a mustard velvet ribbon.

On the painted and stained console table, I twisted a mustard leaf garland into a wreath, tucked it in a stone pedestal and added my lace and rope DIY pumpkin on top. If you're looking to add texture to a pumpkin, this is a great project!

With the AC on in the evenings, I get chilly and love having cozy throws readily available! Our home has an open floor plan, so you're getting a peek at my kitchen below. I kept the fall colors consistent throughout our spaces so they all work together.

To be honest, I left most of my Fall decor in bins this year. I wanted a simpler approach to Fall, and like the coziness I created by focusing on warm colors and textures. The only thing I purchased this year was the velvet ribbon and the little velvet pumpkins (from the Dollar Tree!).

I truly hope I've given you some ideas for adding even a small touch of Fall to your home this year! Be sure to head to Amy Sadler Designs next, and visit the full lineup of tours all week long at the links below!
