Outdoor summer DIYs to enhance your home

Adding curb appeal doesn't have to be overwhelming. Sure, you want to start with good bones, so if your yard needs to be mowed or weeded, or you have overgrown plants to trim, that's a great place to start so you'll have it looking its best.

These outdoor summer projects will just enhance the good stuff you've already got going on!

30-minute Curb Appeal

One of my favorite ways to add curb appeal in under an hour is painting your front door! A fresh pop of color can add so much fun style to your home, and if you use the right paint, you really can take your entry from drab to flab in 30 minutes! I share the process to painting my exterior door at  Creating Curb Appeal in 30 Minutes.

Easy indoor outdoor flag banner

Paint a patriotic flag banner that can be hung indoors or outdoors under a covered porch! It's actually easier than you think, and if you seal the banner with this product, it will last for several years! See my step by step tutorial at  Make an Easy Indoor/Outdoor Flag Banner.

Easy DIY tiered patio fountain with flowers

Even tired pots can have new life when you stack them to create an outdoor fountain. Planted flowers along the edge give it life and the burbling solar fountain will add a little zen to your outdoor space! See how I did it at  Easy DIY Tiered Patio Fountain with Flowers.

Fun front door mat (tacos)

Welcome guests to your home with a fun, customized front door mat. Do you have a favorite family saying? I'll show you how to transfer that to a plain coir mat in this post How to Make a Fun Front Door Mat.

Mason jar outdoor hanging chandelier

If you've got a Ball jar collection and a  metal canning rack, you're just minutes away from creating your own outdoor chandelier! Hang it in the garden or seating area and enjoy the vintage ambience it adds! See how to make it at  Ball Jar DIY Outdoor Chandelier.

How to make a DIY barn quilt for outdoors

Transform your home or garage with a gorgeous barn quilt that you make from plywood and paint! My mom-in-law lives in NC, where barn quilts are common to see, and she asked me to make one for their garage. She chose the Ohio Star pattern, which I was thankful for because it is a simple pattern and adds the perfect touch of country style to their home! See how I made it and how my father-in-law hung it at  How to Make a DIY Barn Quilt.

Update deck with paint

Your wood deck might be suffering from the daily wear and tear of the weather, but unless it's rotting, you can probably make it look fabulous again! Come see how we transformed our deck using specific products and steps to make it look great again at  How to Update a Deck with Paint. Don't replace it, update it!

Add vintage Americana vibes to your porch

Millie helped me to clean off our deck and decorate it for all the patriotic holidays coming up! We invite you to stop by and take a peek...you're going to love Millie's chippy spindle dog bed! Come see the details at  Charming Patriotic Summer Porch. 🐶❤

Don't forget: Pin it to Save it!

Other ways to get the most from your outdoor spaces:

  • plant foliage or flowers in pots and sprinkle them around your space
  • hang a bird feeder
  • increase the size of your patio with large square pavers
