Summer DIYs For Your Home
Here is a collection of 9 summer DIYs that you can make for your home. Each one is budget friendly and will add a pretty touch to your decor.
We are getting into the dog days of summer. I'm not really sure where that
expression came from, but my interpretation is that when it's too hot and
humid outside, that's the perfect time for an indoor craft, like these past
projects!

I love making things for my home and decorating on a dime. I'm working on some
farmhouse dish towels right now, and hope to share those soon. In fact, there
are lots of projects in the works, but here are a few past projects you might
enjoy.
1. DIY Pinwheel Garland
Made from small pieces of
scrapbook paper, these darling pinwheels can be made into a garland, added to cupcakes, or
anywhere you want a little sweet summer style! Click

2. No-Sew Over the Collar Pet Bandanas
In my opinion, a cute bandana makes your pet look so stylish! These were made
using scraps from
bandanas and fabric fat quarters from Walmart, so the cost was around $1 each. Millie
doesn't even know she's wearing one, it's so comfy!
3. Simple Driftwood Planter
This is a great way to use up all that driftwood you collected on vacay! And a great project for the kids. It's more of a modern take on a planter, and a little rustic, but I think it's a great reminder of fun times beach combing! You can watch the video tutorial here.
4. Easy DIY Bee Skep for Under $10
A bee skep made with
natural rope
is so cute for summer decorating. You probably already have everything you
need to make one of these for your home. You might be surprised to find what I
used as the base for these!
5. Summer Candleholders with Burlap and Lace
These burlap-wrapped candle holders are pretty enough to gift (summer
weddings anyone?). Easy and inexpensive to make.
6. French-Inspired Seedling pots
Made from dollar store terracotta pots and
craft stamps, these little pots will add some shabby French style where ever you use
them. Party favors, pots for succulents, make a
terracotta pot wreath, use them as a table centerpiece, you get the idea!
7. Thrifted Frame Update
If you're like me, you're hitting as many yard sales and thrift stores as
possible, after the long hiatus we had! Here's a great way to soften the
wood look of a thrifted frame. I also share tips for decoupaging an image
onto the glass for easy, affordable custom art. Watch the video tutorial

8. Fluffy Farmhouse Tassels Using a Dollar Store Mop
Adding large, fluffy tassels to the ends of your wood bead garland is easy and fun. I made the tassels using dollar store mops! Watch the video tutorial here.
9. Bleached Wood Chargers (without the bleach!)
I love to use chargers on my dining table because they do a great job at
anchoring a place setting! After being unable to find weathered wood ones, I
figured out how to DIY my own using chargers I found at the dollar store!
