It's hard to believe, but I've now been writing this little DIY blog for 12 years! I have hundreds of posts and I've lived in 4 different homes during that time. That's a lot of projects and ideas that I've shared with you!

My followers have grown (welcome if you're new!) and I thought some of those older posts were deserving of a little recognition. There's a very good chance that these posts will be brand new to you.

If you're new to my website, I've done my best to categorize projects. You can hover over the headings at the very top, and click on any of the drop-down links to be taken to category pages.

I recognize that it can be a lot of scrolling, so with that in mind, I hope you enjoy these DIY projects and crafts that I've pulled out of the 'DIY Beautify vault' because they're fan favorites, and too good to miss 😍

Painted buffalo plaid mason jars

This DIY buffalo plaid paint tutorial will work on anything - from glass jars to platters. Flat surfaces are always going to be easier to paint, but I do share my tips to painting on a curved surface. You can experiment with your favorite colors, and this is a great way to recycle those empty pickle jars! Painted jars make great vases and candle holders but you can even use them in your pantry to hold dry goods.

Modern farmhouse staircase makeover

When we removed all the carpet from our Texas farmhouse and installed beautiful wood floors, we quickly realized that our staircase needed a little extra love. It looked bland, and the orangey oak shade of the banisters just didn't work with the new wood floors. If you appreciate modern farmhouse style, this staircase makeover should bring a huge smile to your face! You are gonna want to click through to see how we transformed this eyesore!

Ideas for styling thrifted baskets

Baskets and pillows...they are to a grown woman what Legos and Barbies are to kids 😃 IYKYK. Baskets can be pricey so they're one of my favorite items to search thrift stores for. I have used baskets to corral and display everything from favorite dishes, to plants. I've hung them on the wall, filled them with quilts, and stenciled them. I know you're going to get more than one idea!

Our vintage inspired daybed

When we lived in Texas, we had a big, beautiful sunroom that we used as a guest room as needed. We added a charming daybed to serve as literally a bed during guest visits, but also as a favorite spot in the house to curl up with a book or take a nap.

How to build a modern platform bed

When our daughter was a teenager just a few short years ago, she dreamed of a modern style platform bed. Together with her dad, they drew up some plans and Mr DIY made it happen. Abby's Queen size bed was the first piece of furniture he had ever built! It's a do-able project for those without much building experience.

Anthropologie decor for less

If you love Anthropologie stuff but not the price tag, you will appreciate this dupe! I remade the popular Minka textured pot with Dollar Tree supplies and it turned out so cute!

p.s. I have a video tutorial for another Minka pot dupe using clay, you can see it HERE.

Easy DIY bee skep for less than $10

If you're unfamiliar with the term bee skep, it's just a wicker or straw basket to house bees. They were used as home for bees, before someone invented beehives. Today, bee skeps are more commonly collected for homes and gardens as interesting decorative items.

You can use common household items (like a Solo cup) to make your own bee skeps that look pretty amazingly realistic!

Faux brick wall with European Farmhouse vibes

One of my dreams, when we worked on our bedroom makeover in our Texas farmhouse, was for a brick wall that felt like it had been there for centuries. I did a little research and realized that it was actually quite do-able! Enter the faux brick wall of my dreams! This one was so sad to say goodbye to when we sold that home, and I am planning to install one again in our next home!

It may be July, but people have Christmas on their minds because I've been noticing this handmade ornament idea is getting pinned and viewed a lot! It's not really from the vault, it's from last Christmas, but I thought we'd end this little tour of popular DIY Ideas From the Vault with a Christmas DIY ornament.
