Last week I shared the XO pillow I made using drop cloth and a clearance pillow I found at HomeGoods! It cost me less than $10 to make and everyone seems to love the neutral pillow that can stay out all year!

It did involve a sewing machine and some basic sewing skills, and I know not all of you can appreciate that! 😏 Believe me, I get it! So today I'm sharing how to create a very similar pillow, but it's absolutely no sew!

In fact, this version of the Valentine's XO pillow is so easy to make you might be shocked!

How to Make an XO Pillow, the No-Sew Way

In full disclosure, I made my own pillow cover using 18" square napkins I found, but I'm not including that tutorial here. If you're interested, it's very similar to this tutorial where I made a pillow using place mats.

However, this tutorial is assuming that you already have a plain pillow or pillow cover to use.

Step 1: Trace template and cut out felt

Easy peasy right? Just pin the template onto each piece of felt and cut out! It did take me a little trial and error to get the size just right for the paper template! My  printables, including the XO template, are available for free to subscribers, just look for the link in every email! Not a subscriber? Sign up HERE.

I used the same template for both the oblong drop cloth pillow and this one, so you can use either pillow cover!

Step 2: Glue felt to pillow cover

Before you glue make sure you insert a piece of cardboard in between the two covers to protect the backside from glue!

I used Aleene's Flexable Stretchable fabric glue because it's what I had on hand, but any fabric glue will work!

There's no need to pin the felt to the pillow cover. Lift up one half of the felt and apply a line of glue along the edges, then do the same with the other half!

And that's it friend! I told you it was simple! Easy, inexpensive and cute...that's my kind of craft!

The color of felt you choose and your pillow cover can lend itself to so many different styles and looks! I'd love to see what you do with this tutorial!
