Looking to add patriotic touches to your summer decor but you're on a tight budget, you don't have time to make something, or you need something fast? Stick a flag in it! Check out these ideas, some which are obvious, but many that might surprise you!
Using flags in patriotic decor
Everyone has a flag or two, and if you don't, they're easy to find and
inexpensive to purchase. You can find
small flags on Amazon, flags of all sizes at home improvement stores, Walmart, etc.
You don't need to decorate your entire home to add patriotic touches! When
you tuck a flag into your decor, even if you use nothing else, it instantly
adds patriotic vibes.
Here are several ideas to prove this point.
Idea #1 - Tuck a flag into a basket
We all have houseplants, whether real or faux. Try adding a flag to the basket
or even the plant pot itself for instant July 4 decor.
This is a great idea for your porch as well. See more of our

Idea #2 - Add a flag to a mason jar
Is there any situation where a mason jar doesn't work? They are hard-working
staples that add that classic Americana summer vibe to your home. Whether you
collect new or
old Ball jars, or you save and clean out a few glass pickle or sauce jars, a glass jar is
the ideal vessel to hold a flag or two.
Idea #3 - Stick a flag in a pitcher
I collect vintage and antique white ironstone pieces and use my pitchers all
over the house. A large pitcher holding
these faux hydrangeas, becomes a patriotic centerpiece with the addition of a small flag and some
ribbon.

much blue and red.
Idea #4 - Tuck flags into milk glass vases
Milk glass by itself is so pretty and classic, but add a flag (or a few) to
create a whole patriotic vignette! It literally takes seconds. Pair the milk
glass, flags and blue mason jars together for a truly WOW look! See more of
this
decorated hutch here.

Idea #5 - Add flags to a crock
Whether you're using store-bought flags, or you make a few of my
scrap fabric flags, they look amazing in old crocks of any size.
Idea #6 - Add a flag to your artwork
Whether you have a chippy old window, a mirror or some neutral art hanging on
the wall, add a larger flag to make it pop. I used
this product
to keep my flag flying and not drooping on the old arched window in my office.

Idea #7 - Tuck a flag into something unexpected
Look around your home to see what you can stick a flag into. Maybe it's a
wreath, or a favorite mug or an old tin. You really can't go wrong with this
step. Here in our new rental home, I tucked a flag into a ribbon tied around
the top of this grandfather clock. I'm using the clock to hold old books. You
